Alpha Music Label Acquires Audio Rights Of Kannada Film ‘One and a Half’

Alpha Music Label has secured the audio rights for the upcoming Kannada romantic comedy-fantasy One and a Half, marking its first major content acquisition and signalling the company’s entry as a digital-first audio entertainment platform.

Founded by Santhosh N R, Alpha Music is being positioned as an OTT-style multimedia ecosystem,moving beyond a traditional music label to offer a wide range of digital content. The platform curates and distributes film soundtracks, video songs, teasers, trailers, podcasts, original formats, web series, dubbed content, short films and creator-led projects. It aims to create a holistic launch-and-sustain model for creators while delivering engaging, culturally rooted content to audiences.

Alpha Music has built a strong presence across major digital and social platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, JioSaavn, Spotify, Apple Music and over 30 others, underscoring its commitment to seamless and immersive entertainment experiences.

One and a Half is written and directed by Shreyash Suri, who also stars in the film. The narrative moves across three timelines,the 1990s, 2025 and 2052,blending romance, comedy, fantasy and social themes. The project explores emotional responsibility, self-awareness and preventive thinking, while presenting an entertaining and accessible story for diverse audiences.

The film features Manvitha Kamath in the lead role, supported by actors including Sadhu Kokila, Avinash Yelandur, Suchendra Prasad, Sparsha Rekha, Sundar Shree and Ananthu (of Masterpiece fame). A strong crew of technicians,creative director Mukesh J, cinematographer R. Devendra, choreographer Mohan Bhajarangi and art director Siraj Ismail,supports the project’s creative vision.

Music for One and a Half has been composed by Kadri Manikanth, widely known as The Melody Prince, with lyrics by Shreyash Suri and others. The soundtrack brings together a mix of melodic, contemporary and folk vocals from artists such as MC Bijju, Balu Belagundi, Aishwarya Rangarajan, Aniruddha Shastry and more.

Under the collaboration, Alpha Music will handle the release and promotion of all audio content for the film, along with related digital formats. The platform is also launching a podcast titled Open Talk With Shreyash.

With One and a Half as its first flagship acquisition, Alpha Music aims to establish itself as a new-age digital entertainment ecosystem where cinema, music and content culture converge.
